Al Green Brings Love and Hapiness to BET Awards

So I’m not a fan of the BET Awards, but a little bird told me that the legendary Al Green would be honored so I kept turning back to the show while watching another.  I don’t know how the votes are calculated for the awards but to have Estelle walk away without a little star statue is why I get a little salty. 

I was however, pleasantly surprised to see SWV, En Vouge and TLC performing with Alicia Keys.  How cool was it to see Maxwell again (sans fro). The highlight of the evening was seeing Al Green turn out the show. There’s something about an Al Green song that gets folks out of their seats, hands waving in the air with eyes closed of course.  His music is the kind you can hear over and over again.  The kind that doesn’t go out of style.  The one you can rely on to…well…you know.
